FAQ
Do I need an app to work with the API?
Yes. Custom applications are a platform that defines access from your code to the specific Ecwid store via API.
Can I get a sandbox store for testing?
Yes, you can work on your applications in a separate test store. To do so, create a new free store and email us with its ID or your registration email. Read more about getting started.
What are the limits for API calls?
Find rate limits for REST API requests here. For other API features, rate limits are listed separately.
How do I update my application settings?
Email us and provide the scopes/endpoints that you wish to add. We will update your application and let you know once it’s done.
How do I get paid?
When you develop a public application for our App Market, you can make it paid. Ecwid has flexible billing, so you are not required to develop your own.
Read more about building public applications.
Can free Ecwid users use applications?
Ecwid stores on a free plan don't have access to the API. As a result, free stores also cannot get custom applications or use any public apps from the App Market.
